Cognitive Developmental Robotics (CoDeRs) Group,
Tilburg University, Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence

CoDeRs group focuses on design principles of interactive and trustworthy autonomous systems. We are actively carrying out research in the areas of cognitive robotics, interaction design, developmental machine learning, and human-robot and robot-robot interactions. The main themes of our research are:

  1. Cognition.
We model core components of cognition (and emotion) on interactive embodied robots.
  2. Development.
We follow a developmental AI approach to endow embodied robots with life-long learning skills.
  3. Robotics.
We use and build embodied robots to validate our models.
Our ultimate aim is to help create human-robot symbiotic societies in an ethically responsible way.
